As temperatures rise during the summer months, it's essential to be mindful of how heat affects our pets. Heatstroke is a serious risk that can lead to severe illness or even death. Hydration is key. Always ensure that your pets have access to fresh, clean water. Dehydration can happen quickly, especially during outdoor play or walks. Never Leave Pets in a Parked Car. Temperatures inside a parked car can rise rapidly—even with the windows cracked—and become deadly within minutes. Watch for Signs of Heatstroke. Symptoms include excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse. If you notice any of these signs, move your pet to a cool place, offer water, and contact a vet immediately. Provide a Cool Environment. Keep your home cool with fans or air conditioning. Caring for your furry friends during the heat means being proactive and observant. A few simple precautions can make a big difference in keeping them safe and comfortable all summer long.
